Review of Bioactive Glasses

The combination of bioactive glasses (BGs) with materials like biodegradable metals, calcium-phosphate bioceramics and medical polymers enhances their mechanical properties, biocompatibility and biodegradation control, expanding options for bone defect repair. With advanced 3D fabrication techniques, BG-based bioscaffolds show strong potential for regenerative bone repair, contributing to tissue engineering and the development of better bone substitutes for clinical use.
